Fujifilm, GE Near Escape From Tumor Monitoring Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 8, 2013, 3:58 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday tentatively ruled that Fujifilm Corp. and GE Healthcare Inc. aren't infringing AntiCancer Inc.'s patents covering methods of using fluorescent proteins to monitor tumor cell growth in live laboratory animals.

U.S. District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel held that biotechnology company AntiCancer hasn’t produced any evidence to support its contention of direct infringement in response to GE’s and Fujifilm’s requests for further information. He granted the defendants’ motion for summary judgment of noninfringement.
