Ill. Gov. Plans To Greenlight Physician Licensing Fee Hike

Law360, Chicago (March 8, 2013, 5:14 PM EST) -- Ill. Gov. Pat Quinn plans to sign off on a bill that would increase licensing fees for physicians and allow a state regulatory agency to borrow $6.6 million in order to boost resources for licensing and disciplining doctors in the state, a spokesman confirmed Friday.

Quinn spokesman Grant Klinzman said that the governor intends to give his blessing to Bill SB0622, which passed in the Illinois House of Representatives by a vote of 65-49 and cleared the Illinois Senate last month.
