DePuy Hit With $8.3M Verdict Over Metal Hip Implant

Law360, Los Angeles (March 8, 2013, 2:47 PM EST) -- A Los Angeles jury on Friday ordered Johnson & Johnson subsidiary DePuy Inc. to pay $8.3 million in damages to a retired prison guard who said he was injured by its ASR XL metal hip, in the first such trial against the orthopedic company.
