Texas Lawmaker Eyes Expedited Enviro Permit Program

Law360, New York (March 11, 2013, 1:29 PM EDT) -- Texas state Rep. Linda Harper-Brown, R-Irving, introduced legislation Thursday that would create an expedited environmental permit program benefiting applicants with a proven track record of complying with environmental regulations, giving them access to quicker permit processing and other incentives.

House Bill 2949 aims to establish a performance-based permit program with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality under which eligible applicants could get their permits processed faster, receive permits with extended periods before they need to be renewed and get permits that are automatically renewed.
