Fla. House Panel OKs Tax Breaks For Wind, Energy Upgrades

Law360, Miami (March 12, 2013, 5:01 PM EDT) -- A Florida House panel on Tuesday approved a bill that would exempt home improvements to increase wind resistance or install renewable energy devices from consideration in annual tax appraisals, acting on a constitutional amendment voters passed in 2008.

Sponsor Rep. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda, D-Tallahassee, hopes the fourth time will be the charm for H.B. 277, as the three similar bills the House has passed since the amendment have each died without a Senate vote.
