Google Pushes Private Cos. To Fight Patent Trolls

Law360, New York (March 12, 2013, 7:13 PM EDT) -- With Congress set to discuss new legislation aimed at curbing frivolous patent litigation, Google Inc. pushed Tuesday for more private companies to enter cross-licensing agreements that it believes would reduce the ability of patent trolls to file suits.

The search engine giant rolled out a website that listed several types of standardized, royalty-free agreements, including those that would bind networks of participants to license patents to each other before transferring them to trolls, also known as nonpracticing entities.
