Slingbox Maker Targets Belkin, Others Over Video IP

Law360, Los Angeles (March 13, 2013, 4:44 PM EDT) -- Sling Media Inc., maker of TV streaming device Slingbox, asked the U.S. International Trade Commission on Tuesday to investigate Belkin International Inc., Monsoon Multimedia Inc. and C2 Microsystems Inc., alleging the companies are importing products that violate its placeshifting technology patents.

Sling Media wants the agency to probe whether its rivals breached Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing patent-infringing products. If the imports are found to violate Section 337, an exclusion order will be issued to exclude these products from the U.S....
