Highmark Rips Class Members' Bid To Exit $5M Antitrust Deal

Law360, Philadelphia (March 14, 2013, 2:21 PM EDT) -- Highmark Inc. on Thursday slammed class members seeking to withdraw from a proposed $4.8 million settlement in an antitrust suit targeting it and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, saying their request for a hearing over the withdrawal was rooted in inaccuracies.

The insurer acknowledged that a hearing was necessary, but emphasized that the plaintiffs' motion seeking the hearing wrongfully implied that the company stalled discovery in the suit.
