Citi Asks ITC To Examine Global Data Restrictions

Law360, New York (March 15, 2013, 5:39 PM EDT) -- Citigroup Inc. on Thursday urged the U.S. International Trade Commission to consider regulatory schemes that negatively impact cross-border data processing and hosting operations of financial institutions in the commission's investigation of digital trade in the U.S. and global economies.

The banking giant said as a global financial institution, its data processing operations are subject to a wide array of national and regional regulatory requirements that impact the cross-border data processing of personal information in the countries where it operates.
