Citi, E&Y Push 2nd Circ. To End Worker Class Actions

Law360, New York (March 20, 2013, 6:24 PM EDT) -- Citigroup Inc. and Ernst & Young LLP asked the Second Circuit on Wednesday to overturn court decisions that let employees sue them as a group, arguing provisions in the law that allow class actions do not trump employee contracts that bar them.

Citigroup, a financial services firm, and Ernst & Young, an accounting outfit, each face class actions from employees over pay, even though the firms have crafted employment contracts that require employees to swear off class actions and arbitrate any dispute over their jobs....
