GSK, L'Oreal, Others Fined €39M Over Pricing Scheme

Law360, New York (March 18, 2013, 5:04 PM EDT) -- Germany's antitrust watchdog fined local units of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd., L'Oreal, the Procter & Gamble Co. and others €39 million ($50 million) Monday for exchanging information about pricing for a variety of personal care and cleaning products.

The German Federal Cartel Office handed down its latest round of penalties over pricing and discount information for body care and cleaning products exchanged through a trade association among some of the world's largest consumer product companies in the mid 2000s.
