JPMorgan Beats Silver Market Manipulation MDL

Law360, Los Angeles (March 18, 2013, 3:18 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Monday killed a multidistrict litigation over claims that JPMorgan Chase & Co. violated antitrust laws by artificially suppressing prices for silver futures, saying the plaintiffs failed to show that JPMorgan manipulated the market to reap profits.

The decision comes less than two months after the plaintiffs asked to amend their consolidated class action complaint that was dismissed in December for failure to state a claim, arguing that they had “multiple additional details and facts” that warranted review.
