Minn. OKs Health Exchange Over GOP Objections

Law360, New York (March 19, 2013, 1:25 PM EDT) -- Minnesota lawmakers on Monday formally endorsed creation of a health insurance exchange that will serve 1.2 million people, overcoming objections from Republicans and clearing the way for a mad dash to get the online marketplace up and running by October.

Gov. Mark Dayton of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party has promised to sign the bill, which state senators passed on a 39-28 vote three days after representatives endorsed the legislation on a 72-61 vote.
