Obama Plans To Max Out CPSC Commissioner Picks

Law360, New York (March 20, 2013, 9:00 PM EDT) -- The White House plans to fill all five seats on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the head of the agency told Law360 on Wednesday, a vow that puts the administration on the hook for a whopping four new appointees over the next year.

The CPSC currently has three commissioners: Chairwoman Inez Tenenbaum, a Democrat, as well as Democrat Robert Adler and Republican Nancy Nord. It is allowed by statute to have five commissioners, no more than three of whom can be from the same party....
