DOJ Nabs Another Shipping Exec In Puerto Rico Cartel Probe

Law360, New York (March 22, 2013, 11:58 AM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors indicted a Florida shipping executive Thursday on charges that he conspired to fix prices for freight transport to Puerto Rico, making him the latest target of an ongoing probe into the alleged collusion.

Thomas Farmer, a former executive of Crowley Liner Services, allegedly worked with competing companies to manipulate rates and surcharges for shipments of heavy equipment, perishable food items, medicines and consumer goods bound for Puerto Rico, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
