Ariz. Employers Urge Court To Block Immigration Law

Law360, New York (December 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Business groups in Arizona have urged a federal judge to issue a temporary restraining order to delay implementation of a controversial state law that would punish employers for hiring undocumented workers.

The hearing was scheduled Tuesday in the Arizona district court, with employer advocates hoping to stave off the groundbreaking immigration reform bill — set to come into effect Jan.1, 2008 — while they debate its constitutional merits.
