Ex-Pittsburgh Top Cop Indicted For Misappropriation Of Funds

Law360, Philadelphia (March 22, 2013, 3:49 PM EDT) -- Nate Harper, the former chief of police of the city of Pittsburgh, was hit with a federal grand jury indictment Friday accusing him of misappropriating funds and not filing federal income tax returns.

Harper, who resigned from his post in February in the midst of a federal investigation, allegedly took nearly $32,000 in funds from an account established to repay the city for off-duty roles in covering special events. He also allegedly did not file federal tax returns for the 2008 to 2011 calendar years....
