Amid Debate, House Panel To OK CPSC Overhaul Bill

Law360, New York (December 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- With a U.S. House of Representatives panel slated to give its blessing Tuesday to legislation that would boost funding to the faltering Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumer groups still contend the bill falls short of protecting consumers.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee was scheduled to consider the bill Tuesday and vote on several amendments. If approved, the bill would make the first significant changes to the agency in nearly two decades.
