Reliant Faces Suit Over Pollution In New Jersey

Law360, New York (December 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The state of New Jersey has sued electricity giant Reliant Energy Mid-Atlantic Power Holdings for allegedly polluting the state's air with emissions from a coal-burning power plant in Pennsylvania, New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram announced Tuesday.

The complaint alleges that the Portland Generating Station, a power plant across the Delaware River from New Jersey, emits “harmful pollutants that impact New Jersey’s air quality, citizens and environment,” according to a press release from Milgram's office.
