USTR Reports Piecemeal Trade Progress While Big Pacts Lag

Law360, New York (April 1, 2013, 4:56 PM EDT) -- The Obama administration issued three reports Monday detailing its progress in removing individual trade barriers in a number of countries, even as it continues to pursue comprehensive free trade agreements with the European Union and several Pacific nations.

The White House’s negotiators have been involved in talks for the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership and are in the planning stages of an agreement with the European Union. But those types of broad agreements have proved elusive: the administration has yet to sign one since taking over in 2008....
