IPhone, BlackBerry Pose Brain Tumor Threat, Suit Claims

Law360, New York (April 1, 2013, 7:41 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc., BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd. and others were sued Friday by an Illinois man claiming his cellphone use over the last 20 years caused his brain tumors and accusing the companies of minimizing the health risks of cellphones.

In a complaint filed in Illinois state court, James Voelker and his wife Kelly Voelker accuse Apple, RIM, Verizon Wireless Services LLC, Motorola Solutions Inc. and Samsung Electronics America Inc. of minimizing research showing the potential link between cellphone use and health problems, including tumors...
