FERC Urged To Nix Gulf South's $48M Pipeline Deal

Law360, New York (April 3, 2013, 6:55 PM EDT) -- CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp. filed a formal protest Tuesday with federal energy regulators against Gulf South Pipeline Co. LP's proposed $48 million sale of 2,000 miles of pipeline through Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, saying the deal would result in service reductions and higher prices.

Urging the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to reject Gulf South's mid-March applications to sell sections of its pipe network and natural gas transmission facilities to three affiliated companies, CenterPoint argued the would-be buyers have no experience in pipeline operation, lack storage capabilities...
