Court Rejects $156M Verdict On Hamas Killing

Law360, New York (January 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appeals court panel has overturned a $156 million judgment to the parents of a 17-year-old boy who was killed by gunmen allegedly acting on behalf of Hamas.

In a 102-page opinion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit ruled that Stanley and Joyce Boim had not demonstrated an adequate causal link between the death of their son, David, and the actions of the defendants.

As a result, it remanded the case to the district court for further proceedings.
