Highmark Seeks Sanctions For 'Baseless' UPMC Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (April 5, 2013, 1:59 PM EDT) -- Highmark Inc. asked a Pennsylvania federal court Thursday to sanction the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for launching what Highmark claims is a sham antitrust suit claiming it conspired to acquire West Penn Allegheny Health Systems to monopolize the local health care market and shut out UPMC.
