Judge Frees 'Swarm' Of Downloaders From BitTorrent Case

Law360, New York (April 5, 2013, 5:49 PM EDT) -- An Ohio federal judge on Thursday severed all claims in four copyright suits targeting nearly 200 unidentified individuals accused of illegally downloading the 2011 film “Puncture,” finding that alleged participation in a BitTorrent “swarm” is too imprecise a factor to support joinder.
