DC Agency Won't Face Class In Lead Tap Water Suit

Law360, New York (April 09, 2013, 2:29 PM ET) -- A Washington judge refused to certify a class of children in a lead exposure suit accusing the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority of failing to warn the public about contamination, ruling that the proposed class of tap water drinkers under 7 years old with elevated blood lead levels was too broad.

Judge Anthony C. Epstein faulted the named plaintiffs, who are the parents of seven exposed children, for seeking to represent many people who have not suffered an injury and have "no realistic chance"...
