Fed. Circ. Asked To Restore $147M Patent Verdict Against RIM

Law360, New York (April 9, 2013, 4:22 PM EDT) -- Mformation Technologies Inc. on Monday told the Federal Circuit that a jury's $147.2 million verdict against Research In Motion Ltd. was wrongly overturned in a case alleging that the Blackberry maker infringed a patent related to device management technology.

In an appeals brief, Mformation urged the Federal Circuit to reinstate the jury verdict, saying that, following a trial in the patent infringement suit, a California federal district court had improperly determined that RIM did not infringe Mformation's U.S. Patent Number 6,970,917.
