ITC Reverses Invalidity Ruling In Bosch Wiper Patent Case

Law360, New York (April 10, 2013, 5:28 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Wednesday reversed an administrative law judge's findings that importers of Michelin-brand windshield wiper blades had not infringed patents held by a Robert Bosch GmbH unit and that some of the patents were invalid.

The commission said two separate findings last fall — one that four of Bosch's patents were invalid as indefinite, another that certain defendants hadn't committed infringement — were predicated on faulty claims construction by Administrative Law Judge Charles E. Bullock.
