Tory Burch Bags $200M From Knockoff Syndicate

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 2:31 PM EDT) -- A large syndicate of alleged counterfeiters could owe Tory Burch LLC up to $200 million after an Illinois federal judge's recent default judgment against them, finding they had infringed the luxury designer’s trademarks by selling knockoff merchandise through deceptive websites.

U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer ordered on April 8 that the 100 John Doe defendants to pay $2 million in damages each and imposed a permanent injunction against the alleged infringers after they failed to respond to Tory Burch’s Feb. 21 complaint.
