Tyson Axes Claims Against Marsh In Antitrust MDL

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 6:21 PM EDT) -- Tyson Foods Inc. on Friday dropped claims that Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. engaged in a long-running insurance bid-rigging scheme that raised insurance prices and lessened competition within the industry, slimming a New Jersey multidistrict litigation against several insurers and brokers.

U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi dismissed Tyson's claims against Marsh and several of its subsidiaries with prejudice, but the ruling does not otherwise affect the MDL, which has targeted companies like American International Group Inc., Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. and MetLife Inc.
