San Francisco Defends $508M Convention Center Expansion

Law360, Los Angeles (April 12, 2013, 9:56 PM EDT) -- The city of San Francisco on Thursday asked a California judge to validate that officials lawfully approved the expansion of its convention complex the Moscone Center financed by $507.8 million in debt notes, warning the undertaking might be slowed without court action.

Proponents of the improvement project contend that expansion of the major business convention center could generate up to $5 billion, injecting roughly $713 million into the San Francisco economy.
