PE Firm Madison Dearborn Inks $1.3B Deal To Buy NFP

Law360, Los Angeles (April 15, 2013, 7:19 PM EDT) -- Private equity investment firm Madison Dearborn Partners LLC has agreed to acquire National Financial Partners Corp., a provider of benefits, insurance and wealth management services, for approximately $1.3 billion, the companies announced Monday.

The transaction was unanimously approved by NFP’s board of directors, who first formed a special committee of independent directors to explore the possible sale of the company. Under the terms of the agreement, NFP shareholders will receive $25.35 in cash for each share of NFP common stock they own, the company said....
