Judge Tosses Consortium Claims In Plane Crash

Law360, New York (January 07, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A judge said Thursday that the spouses, adult children and parents of those who died in a 2006 Comair Inc. plane crash in Kentucky cannot sue for their loss of companionship.

Judge Karl S. Forester of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky rejected more than 20 claims alleging the loss of consortium of a spouse, an adult child or a parent of an adult child because state law in Kentucky does not allow such claims.
