Minn. Appeals Court Revives Tribal Casino Expansion Suit

Law360, New York (April 16, 2013, 1:22 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota appeals court restored a breach of contract suit Monday that the city of Duluth had lodged at a Native American tribe over the tribe's alleged attempts to grow its casino gaming operations with the purchase of a hotel property.

The ruling reversed an earlier dismissal of the suit and remanded the case back to the state court, which originally had dismissed it on a stipulation in a 1994 agreement between the city and the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa that issues...
