NY GOP Senator Pushes Fracking Settlement Disclosure Bill

Law360, New York (April 19, 2013, 2:58 PM EDT) -- Settlements arising from legal disputes over hydraulic fracturing in New York State will not be able to feature nondisclosure agreements if a bill sponsored Wednesday in the New York State Senate by Buffalo Republican Sen. Mark Grisanti finds its way through the legislature this year.

No legislation of any kind was passed during the last session related to the controversial method of extracting gas from shale rock, including several bills pitched by Grisanti, who chairs the Senate's environmental conservation committee.
