Appeals Win, But Maybe Not Cash, For Cordis

Law360, New York (January 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appeals court has upheld jury verdicts which found Medtronic Inc. and Boston Scientific Corp. infringed Cordis Corp. coronary stent patents, but stopped short of reinstating damage awards of more than $595 million.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled on Monday against Medtronic and Boston Scientific's requests for new trials or reversals of the patent infringement findings, ruling that a Delaware district court did not err in determining several claim constructions or in allowing juries to decide certain infringement issues....
