SeaWorld Surges 24% To $33.52 In NYSE Trading Debut

Law360, New York (April 19, 2013, 4:58 PM EDT) -- Blackstone Group LP-backed SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. traded well above its initial public offering in its debut on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, a day after raising $702 million in an IPO that valued the marine park operator at $2.5 billion.

SeaWorld stock opened on the NYSE at $30.56, 13 percent above the $27 offer price. The stock rose steadily from there throughout the day, closing up 24.15 percent from the offer price at $33.52.
