Real Estate Co. Hands Over $1.5M In Asbestos Cleanup Deal

Law360, New York (April 19, 2013, 6:10 PM EDT) -- Real estate company DSC of Newark Enterprises Inc. has agreed to pay the government $1.5 million to settle asbestos pollution allegations at a New Jersey Superfund site and cover remediation costs, the U.S. Department of Justice said Friday.

Resolving a 2009 Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act suit brought by the federal government, DSC will fork over 92 percent of the the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's past costs of cleaning up the Friction Division Products Superfund site just outside Trenton, N.J.
