Airline Groups Sue FAA To Block Controller Furloughs

Law360, New York (April 19, 2013, 7:10 PM EDT) -- Trade associations representing the U.S. airline industry said Friday they had sued the Federal Aviation Administration in an attempt to block the government's plan to furlough air traffic controllers as part of mandated budget cuts.

Airlines for America filed a petition with the U.S. Appellate Court for the District of Columbia Circuit seeking a stay to halt the FAA's budget plan, saying the cutbacks would harm the economy, airline employees and customers.
