Evaluate everybody at the same time.

When we ask managers how they ensure that their employees are evaluated on an equitable basis, we often hear, "I rate each employee as an individual." That sounds wonderful, but "grading on a curve" is a better way to rate your employees if you don't want a discrimination claim.
