Power Cos. Jolted By SPP's Tariff Proposal

Law360, New York (January 08, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A group of utilities is protesting Southwest Power Pool’s plan to modify its open-access transmission tariff to let qualifying generators outside the regional electric organization’s footprint provide service to SPP’s energy imbalance service market.

Entergy Services Inc., Cleco Power LLC and the Lafayette Utilities System argued that the plan would put too many burdens on certain parties, according to their objections filed Friday with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
