Allegheny Reaches Transmission Line Agreement

Law360, New York (January 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An Allegheny Energy Inc. subsidiary has put to rest some objections to its proposed construction of a new 500-kilovolt transmission line, clearing the path for an evidentiary hearing, scheduled to begin Wednesday.

Under the proposed agreement, which the West Virginia Public Service Commission still must approve, West Virginia's consumer advocate would drop all of its objections except several that concern specific routing adjustments. The consumer advocate would also recommend that the commission approve the project, which is called the Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line, under the agreement....
