Law360, New York (May 10, 2013, 12:01 PM EDT) -- The United States Patent and Trademark Office has recently promulgated a final rule establishing a new set of ethics rules for patent prosecution practitioners. The rules became effective May 3, 2013.

The rules are largely based on a version of the American Bar Association's model ethics rules, and thus attorney practitioners will typically already be quite familiar with most of the requirements of the rules.
