Law360, New York (January 09, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A member company of American International Group Inc. has agreed to fork over $42.5 million to clean up contamination at four industrial facilities formerly owned by Fruit of the Loom, the U.S. Department of Justice said Wednesday.
The payout by American International Specialty Lines Insurance Co. Inc. resolves a lawsuit in which the DOJ intervened on behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of the Interior, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
