Long Island Sound LNG Plan Draws Fire From AG

Law360, New York (January 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal came out against the controversial proposed Broadwater liquid natural gas facility in Long Island Sound, urging New York to reject the proposal in a statement filed Monday.

New York law requires that the plan be rejected because there exists a safer, more environmentally-friendly alternative that provides more natural gas, he said. The better option is Exxon's recently proposed BlueOcean Energy LNG off the New Jersey coast, he said.
