Robbins Geller Says DeVry Recruiting Suit Wasn't Frivolous

Law360, New York (April 29, 2013, 4:38 PM EDT) -- Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP asked an Illinois federal judge Friday not to impose sanctions on the firm for filing an allegedly frivolous proposed class action accusing DeVry Inc. of deceptive recruiting and financial aid lending practices.

The firm denied DeVry’s allegations that it made a so-called Rule 11 violation by failing to properly investigate the securities fraud claims before filing its suit against DeVry on behalf of lead plaintiff Boca Raton Firefighters’ and Police Pension Fund.
