Bose Settles Hitachi ITC Suit Over Rare-Earth Magnet Patents

Law360, New York (April 29, 2013, 6:27 PM ET) -- Bose Corp. has agreed to settle claims brought by Hitachi Metals Inc. alleging the headphone and speaker maker imported products containing rare-earth magnets covered by Hitachi patents, according to documents filed Friday with the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Bose and Hitachi filed a joint motion seeking to terminate the portion of the ITC's investigation into Bose's importation of  products that contain sintered rare-earth magnets in light of a settlement the parties reached on April 22. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
