HUD Approves $1.83B NJ Sandy Disaster Recovery Plan

Law360, New York (April 29, 2013, 5:46 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on Monday said it has approved New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's plan to pump $1.83 billion into the state's housing, infrastructure and businesses to help it recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy.

Christie's disaster recovery plan will be funded through HUD's Community Development Block Grant Program, and will provide grants and low-cost loans to small businesses and several programs intended to relieve homeowners of damaged or destroyed properties.
