Schumer Pushes For Further Hydrocodone Restrictions

Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., on Monday campaigned for legislation that would put more restrictions on hydrocodone, a powerful painkiller, by moving it into Schedule II — a move long called for by the Drug Enforcement Administration and one that Schumer's home state implemented in February.

Schumer on Monday called for the legislation, S. 621, at a substance abuse treatment center in Syracuse, a central New York city hit hard by the nation's painkiller abuse epidemic.
