Fla. Bill To Speed Up Manufacturing Permits Heads To Gov.

Law360, Miami (April 30, 2013, 7:23 PM EDT) -- The Florida Senate on Tuesday unanimously passed a bill that would expedite state agency review of permit applications for manufacturing plants and allow for default approval of permits if agencies fail to meet a 60-day deadline.

With passage by both houses, H.B. 357, called the Manufacturing Competitiveness Act, now heads to Gov. Rick Scott for consideration. The bill would give counties and municipalities the option of adopting a local manufacturing development program under which manufacturers could get master plan approval for sites.
